2. Get a Recipe…Book

Despite the immense creative freedom that juicing allows (basically, if your taste buds can take it, you can juice it), following a recipe is the best way for beginners to begin their journey.

We have an entire section devoted to recipes, plus a free e-book, so that’s a covered section. Different recipes have different effects (and not to mention different tastes) on one’s health, and we always advise people to buy fresh, organic and pesticide free produce.

Following a recipe also provides the budding juicer a template from which to experiment, coming up with new and creative mixes all by themselves. Of course, we’d love to hear your recipes too, so e-mail them to us and we’ll share them on the website!

3. Get Familiar with Your New Juicer

Depending on the type of juicer selected, it may be easy to clean or difficult, maybe it encourages stuffing or requires a patient hand, maybe it needs produce to be finely cut or has no problem handling whole fruits and veggies.

Specialized juicers, such as green juicers or citrus juicers, also have their special quirks that need to be learned. And each brand brings its own unique set of do’s and do not’s.

So, take a breather, learn about your special new friend, and just enjoy the journey of getting to know each other.

4. Take Good Care of the Juicer

Always wash a juicer soon as possible after every session. Wash it well, clean it thoroughly, scrub it, and make sure it’s not dirty. A dirty juicer is going to fall through quicker than a politician’s promise, and will produce pulpy juice that’s pretty tasteless (or just tastes plain wrong).

Also, dry it well and make sure no from children and adventures cats can get to it easily.

5. Drink it!

Drink it! Drink it fresh as possible! Although most juices will keep in the fridge for at least 12 hours without spoiling.

The nutritional peak of fresh juices comes right out the juicing machine’s spout, so at least reserve a glass for immediate consumption. Oxidization is the juicer’s enemy!

Although there’s a lot more to juicing, these five steps cover the fundamental basics, and should get you going. Check out website for a free e-book and weekly newsletter for more information and updates. We’d also love to hear how and why you started juicing, so e-mail us your stories.
