Crucial Tips To Get You Started

A standard diet of processed foods and other garbage was wearing me and my body down. Luckily,  in my late twenties (but I believe it’s possible at any age) I realized something had to be done. The advice and tips I share with you here are drawn from my and my team’s years of personal experience and health related topics.

Juicing has proven to help people get in shape, become healthier and even cure severe illnesses such as asthma (note: I’m not a doctor, please always get medical advice before starting a juice fast). However, many people fail at starting a healthier lifestyle because it seems hard and there is so much information out there. Don’t think about it as a “diet”– rather, it’s a way of life.     Carrot Apple Ginger Juice

    Ingredients
    Directions
    For 1 oz / 50 ml
    5 Carrots
    2 Apples
    0.5 inch Ginger
    5 sprigs Parsley

    Wash the produce before juicing.

    From the carrots, remove the green part. No need to peel them.

    If you don't have a juicer with a large chute, cut the apple into pieces.

    Add the carrots and apples to the juicer. Also, add ginger to taste (I usually use one know for a glass).

    If you have a masticating juicer add parsley. Otherwise consider adding your juice into a blender together with some parsley sprigs. Blend it and you done!

Detoxification and Cleansing

Many people I know are really looking forward to the detox abilities of juice. This is what you need to know:

Detoxification

On daily basis we’re confronted with toxins – in our food, the air and in what we drink. So in theory, when we try to “detoxify” our bodies –we need to reduce the environmental strain on them.

The standard junk diet consists mostly of processed foods because they are convenient, cheap and taste good. But unfortunately, junk food is not even remotely good for the body.

Detoxifying organs (kidney, liver, lungs) automatically clean your body, but if the toxic load gets too high, it could make you sick. Now, I say, “could” because there is no scientific evidence that detoxing actually is beneficial to the body.

My take on the issue: just try it out and see how you feel. If the answer is “feeling better” after a week of detox — it works great!

The Juice Cleanse

There are a lot of detox diets on the market and the industry earns millions and billions of dollars selling stuff related to “detoxing” the body. In general I believe that your body is capable of doing much of the leg work, if supported with enough excise and healthy food.

However, a juice cleanse can help reboot the body so that you can start a healthier diet alongside a new gym routine. The juice cleanse should not be understood as a miracle weapon against every hamburger and fry you may have eaten over the last year, nor is it a cure to cancer or other diseases. However, the nutrients stored within fruits and vegetables will help your body do its thing.

Scientific studies do not show evidence that cleansing has any benefits to the body. There may be some placebo results that come with it – much like: I forced myself to drink juice over a 10 day period, it just has to work. The extreme critics believes that only people with drug addictions need to cleanse and detox their bodies .

Which Juicer To Buy?

Choosing a juicer can be a painful and confusing experience. But it really doesn't have to be that way at all. The single most important thing is that you know why you want to start in the first place and what your goals are.
